d2d....part of morning prep?...not done on a sat for Monday?

Just checking what others think of prepping the next days/weeks d2ds the day or sat before?
As its on the 318 I do it in the morning if its not already done.

it should be built into daily workload figures if not your iwt ep bsi calculations will all be wrong
but does the mgmt care
wait until they ask for more lapsing then see how much d2d get prepped earlier

How can daily workloads be anywhere near realistic when figures gained from
"Extras" I.e no breaks,early start etc?
Think I'll time myself tomorrow doing the rather large amount so I've and idea

saturday i was back early so i put them in for monday ,, but if i was on time ,, i wouldnt have done it ,, same as every day if theres time at the end i will do ,, this is for my convenience and no one elses ,, but i wont go over my time to do it

Understand why you do it Chemisy, however it is supposed to be a daily task and therefore if you happened to not come in the next day for some reason, the person doing your walk will have less work to do, get around quicker, and your manager is left to make the conclusion that a stand in is doing the walk quicker than the walk holder and you know what comes as a result of that conclusion.

Did everybody that finished early on the Saturday actually returned to the office... And does everyone always have to return to the office when they finish.

Not in my office, no. In fact, it doesn't matter if you finish early or late, you don't have to go back to the office.

Weirdly, there are three duties (that I know of) where the walker is full time and the driver is part time. The driver drops off the walker then has to go back to the office and sort the bags, P739's etc.

I normally prep and throw in the following days D2Ds when I get back. I know I'm not supposed to but I hate doing them in the morning and having one less thing to do in the morning puts me in a better mood I find. The time it saves me the following day I use to make a nice cappuccino after I've finished on the IPS.

It doesn't matter if you prep door to doors before you go out or when you come back for the next day. It is still taking the same amount of time out of your day.

I personally do them when I come back, if I have time. I usually do have time because I don't do them before I go out. I don't mind working to my finish time but I'd rather work until that time indoors than out. I still find it embarrassing being out in the afternoon so the less time I spend outdoors in the afternoon the less I feel embarrassed.

And we wonder why we have problems in deliveries. If we all followed the agreements/procedures then maybe just maybe lapsing will be a thing of the past. 1/6th of D2d's are now part of your mail for that day so why not just do it. Too be honest it's one of the simplistic agreements to follow but still it confuses loads.

If you prep door to doors at the end of your walk and deliver them the next day and continue this pattern you are still doing 1/6th each day. There is absolutely no extra workload being added.

Our gaffer MAKES us put them in ...if we've come back a minute early from delivery or risk disciplinary

I prep them myself. If my day off is Tuesday for example I'll prep Wednesdays on Monday and leave them under the frame. Thats where it takes time. Putting them into the slots takes no more than 5 mins. The hard work is already done.

This is my long weekend off. Our door to doors were in on Friday so when I got back on Friday I put them together for Tuesday. When I go in tomorrow I just have to put them in the frame which won't take long.
