evening all 7 d2d next week do we get any extra time to prep these mother feckers or do we absorb em to our duty ,

In our office they are classed as mail no difference just work your hours. If you think you will go over your contracted hours either do the over time or cut off choice is yours ,but tell line manager before.

No different to having 4 walk sorts on a day compared to having 2 or 3. You prep everything in including 1/6th of the D2ds and deliver up to your finish time, or if you go over you book the overtime. Just forget they are D2ds and are part of the daily mail bag.

With bundled D2Ds, will that mean we shall have more time to lapse or perhaps less delivery supplement?

I am still confused as to how the same amount of time is allocated (within duty schedules) for 3 d2ds and 6 d2ds? Surely with more d2ds, there is more time prepping them and more weight of items to deliver.

The weight is less of an issue but when you have bulky d2ds, sometimes you have to split your bags or have to carry the d2ds separately because they will not fit in the slots esp double slots.

Is the time allocate for d2ds prep within the duty 318 (for those that use them) based on a model weak or model number of 3 or 4 items?

It is easy for people to say cut off but most of us will not cut off for the sake of 10-15minutes extra; and sometimes we can work faster (not ideal over a long period) which is what RM/management exploits.

Well, RM are hardly likely to be doing it to benefit staff, are they?

It's a fixed payment, and can only change with agreement of CWU.

Don`t know whereabouts in the west midlands, but a bit more info that I was told. They trialled it in one envelope but customers wanted to pay less so the current trial involves them being "wrapped" in paper strapping which breaks as it goes through the letterbox meaning we only prep one item but the customer receives them all individually.

If they were bundled then yes we would have less time, but what would the delivery supplement have to do with it?

The time allocated with in the duty schedule is for the model week amount of d2d, they weekly workload will vary as will the weekly workload of mail and packets etc, hence that the office rep should be having a weekly resourcing meeting with the dom to discuss traffic levels and how they will be managed in the office

If d2ds are done in columns rather than sections it vastly improves the weight situation with d2d, you are carrying enough for 20 doors at most in each bag, also posties carrying bags should be in the minority now and be decreasing so weight should not be a factor anyway

The time allocated within the 318 is based on the time that comes from the IWT from the model week figures

you dont get extra time, but they do take longer to prep, so if that is going to take you over your finishing time, you should inform your manager that you cannot complete on time at the earliest opportunity and ask how he wants you to proceed, ie cut off or claim over time

you dont get extra time, but they do take longer to prep,

They might get extra time if resources have been brought in to advance the IPS, or overtime may be available to simply prep them (or someone on light duties may be allocated the task)
