Bullying

Post by first_class_stamp »

Hi can anyone please advise me.

i have been put under allot of pressure over the past few months regarding working overtime. I have had time off with stress and I am on anti depressant tablets as a result of the pressure.

Today I was told that tomorrow I am to come in 30 min later than everyone else so that they can get my frame preped for half an hour and cos i will finish 30 later I will have time to absorb. Can they do this without agreement and without giving me notice?

I said no I will come in at my normal time and finish at my normal time

think they can make you do different types of work within your hours but you have to agree to move your hours and notice would have to be given
get rep to put in disagreement to stop it in its tracks
oh and vote NO

My rep is less than useless, what form do I fill in myself to register disagreement? I would have thought he would have to use the industrial framework to change my hours? How much notice would he need to give?

Why vote no? Seams like a good deal?

They can change the content of your "318" but your starting and finishing times are sacrilage. As your disbute is with your first line manager you can go to a stage 2 individual grievance wich will involve HR Pond Street Sheffield. If you are suffering from continual B&H you should complete an HR1 form which you can request from your Manager or CWU rep. A talk with your union rep before taking positive action may " nip in the bud" your problem.

Go tomorrow at your normal starting time if this invokes a reaction from your line manager then you advise that you have not received any alteration to your starting/finishing times in writing and you have not given your approval to the change. He may be making the alteration of 30 minutes under a flexibilty agreement but again this has to be agreed by both parties. If you feel that an altrecation is to commence would have a companion with you as a witness to what he says. Your union rep would be better to have him involved.

First Class Stamp you are not returning to work tomorrow after being off and are returning on a rehab work plan because the working hours in this instance would be at their discrection?

tell your manager to CLEAR HIS DESK, and come out on your walk to test it, I think that will solve the problem!

This is a simple thing that your manager has made more complicating... He can always prep 30 minutes of your round for you before your start time...

The result should be the same - I think :hmmmm

Ask him why you are being treated differently to the other members of staff. You consider this to be intimidating, rather than helping you to cope with your medical conditions and unless he can provide you with a plausible reason for his actions you will submit a b&h case against him.

I have filled out a B&H form and e-mailed it just, will let you know how I get on. i don't think I will get anywhere with the B&H form tho. 1) cos they will say its grievance and not B&H and then grievance will say its a process issue not a grievance and 2) the line manager said he is trying to help me complete the delivery by getting someone to prep my round for 30 min before i get in, i like the comment about why can't he get someone to prep 30 min before my start time tho ill use that one. This manager is a relief manager I put a B&H form in against my line manager for harassing me to work overtime about a month ago, they wrote back to me with the name of someone who is dealing with that case but that person has not contacted me yet.

This is what i put in the B&H form

I have experienced severe bullying and harassment this week by ************** in the form of pressure to work overtime.
Because I will not work overtime I have been told that my start time will be changed from 7am – 2pm to 7.30am – 2.30pm.
I am the only person who has their working times changed by ************** and I feel I am being victimised because
I will not work overtime. If I work overtime my times will not be changed if I do not work overtime my times will be changed.
This change has attempted to be imposed on me without agreement from me or the CWU, without my individual circumstances
being taken into account, outside of the industrial framework and in complete contrast to the proposed National Agreement
that CWU members are voting on this week. I am currently being treated for depression and stress by my doctor that has been
caused by a different Royal Mail manager who has also been pressuing me to work overtime. I filled out another one of these
forms about a month ago. I received a letter giving the name of someone who was meant to contact me but who has not as of
yet done so.
