Return To Work Plan - Contracted Hours

Post by Fox87 »

Morning all!

I have just recently returned to work (after long-term leave, due to severe muscular skeletal pain, also I was diagnosed as suffering from stress & anxiety), on a 8-week return to work plan. I was told by Atos that I would be working my normal contracted hours, with a reduced finish time i.e. Week 1: 10am-12pm / Week 3: 10am-1pm. My first two weeks were worked as 10am-12pm, though this week (Week 3), my hours have changed to 7am-10am. What is the agreement for this? I know for a fact, that there are no part-time duties that start at 7am, and 24-hour duties are 11am-3:48pm 5-days-per-week (This was my old contract, though I used to attend earlier to pick up full-time duties and receive overtime (flex)). I have not received any formal indication of my hours since returning to work, and when I questioned my manager regarding this issue, I was told that under the rehab plan I could be made to work any hours as necessary, for the duration of my 8-week plan. Is this correct, or should I be working a set start time? Can they alter my start time, so upon full return to part-time duties I have to work say 6am-10:48am? I am very confused about the situation and any advice would be greatly appreciated, as there has been little transparency on what my contracted hours are, and the actual duties that should be undertaking under my contract (the company has changed drastically since I first went absent in early 2013), which is simply causing me extra stress and making my return even more difficult.

Thanks for your time,

Regret to be the bearer of bad news but as you are on a re-hab plan agreed with ATOS and RM is accommodating you on reduced hours they can use your re-hab planned hours at their diiscretion that satisfies them and has no resemblence on your original contracted hours. However certain offices will if operational needs warrant try to place you as near to your original starting anf finishing times. Fail to understand why you are unaware of your actual contracted hours so you need to take this matter uo with management and CWU rep.
