Nottingham - Later letters after Royal Mail change

HOUSEHOLDS in parts of Nottingham could be getting their mail later as a result of changes being made by Royal Mail.

The postal company has announced it will be altering the way deliveries are made in the NG1 (city centre) and NG3 (Carlton, Sneinton, St Ann's, Mapperley) postcodes from this week.

It has said it will deliver for longer throughout the day, but aims to finish rounds by 3pm.

The changes have come about as fewer letters and more parcels are being sent.

Royal Mail spokeswoman Felicity MacFarlane said: "With the introduction of new delivery methods in Nottingham's NG1 and NG3 postcode areas, Royal Mail will continue to deliver in the morning and for a longer period during the day.

"This may be later or possibly earlier than current delivery times. As always, Royal Mail aims to deliver in urban areas by 3pm and in rural areas by 4pm."

This is ironic these ongoing later mail to customers changes, are already being overtaken by strong hints of 8_till_4 shifts with collections at the end
