lapsing duties

We had a meeting yesterday in our d.o where it was said that we would be lapsing one duty, mon to sat
for 14weeks from end of may. I have heard that this should not be happening our revision kicked in last
april any info on this .

They lapsed one duty at my office last year,they chose the 12 who got back 1st to do it

couple of things

Because of this lapsing have more annual leave slots been opened up for staff to select? if not then insist that you want extra leave made availible for summer staffing lapsing

Does your rep go to a weekly resourcing meeting to look at forecast traffic levels and compare it to the model week used in your revision?

Our rep well thats another story . Dont know what he does. Has a cushy number and as far as I can see
dosnt want to rock the boat on any issue

theres your problem then potentially, what should be happening is a resourcing meeting once a week looking at the following week, the forecast traffic should be compared to your model week traffic agreed in your revision, if its below the model week then you should have scope to lapse, if its above then not, if above then rep should be insisting that overtime be offered to cover any absence that would have been lapsed
