Face to face meeting??
Dom called me up today for a face to face meeting, or whatever its called? as I've been on long term sick leave. Is this standard procedure, or is it because he doesn't believe that im genuinely ill? And what is likely to happen in this face to face meeting? thanks

He will try to get you back to work. If you have a sicknote and have been signed off by your GP as unfit for work he cant touch you. Get the union rep involved. If you dont want to go to your place of work you can ask for the meeting at another office. You have to have contact with RM, just make sure its on your terms. Management cannot turn up at your home without your permission. My manager did this to me, I was on long term sick, and Ive banged in a grievance. RM ignored it and its now gone to the next stage. Get the union on board and dont let them bully you. Good luck.

It's all part of their duty to keep in touch and offer help but as has already been said it's also a great opportunity to try and convince you to come back to work before you're ready. Any of his suggestions should be met with "I'll have to check with my GP"

First you need a union rep present .It's any ones guess what he's got to say but he might offer ill health retirement.

Yes. If ATOS say you are unfit for work and also any "modified" duty or job would be unsuitable. It can be as little as a couple of weeks between ATOS decision and being offered IHR by RM. Age dosent come into it.
