Waiting list help?

Hi everyone,

Still haven't heard whether ive got the job for postwoman yet, still hoping but if i don't get the job, how does the waiting list work? Can i apply for any jobs to do with royal mail and can I apply outside my town, for example like 2 hours away? Also Do you have to go for another interview etc?

The email will be a bit like this....

On this occasion we are unable to offer you the position you applied for as there were other higher scoring candidates. However, you did reach the standard required to pass the interview and your name has therefore been added to our waiting list for a period of 3 months from the date of this e-mail.

During this time if you see any similar vacancies (delivery, processing and collections role) advertised on our website, you do not need to re-apply, simply email our team at myapplication@royalmail.com with the details of the vacancy you are interested in.

For example: John Smith RML045045 – Brighton, Part Time 25 Hours.

Please also state ‘Waiting List Candidate’ within the subject box of the email.

We will then consider you for the vacancy if you meet the criteria for the role.

If you are offered the position you may be required to provide further documentation to ensure your details meet our vetting requirements.

Please ensure you carefully read the position details for any other role you may be interested in, prior to submitting your e-mail, to check that the job meets your expectations in terms of the distance you will need to travel, hours, times of attendance etc. Once you apply for the role as outlined above, your name will be removed from the waiting list whilst the required checks are carried out and you will not be able to apply for any alternative role which may subsequently be advertised during this period.
