Re: Promotion
Jobs are posted on the intranet through something known as IRIS.
Ask your Manager if you can have a search through what's on offer. Once you have set your filter/criteria you can have the system automatically email you if any new positions meet that criteria.

Re: Promotion
Is there such thing as 'promotion' in RM? The only ones that seem to move off delivery are failed posties, then they give you grief if you can't complete even though they could'nt do the job when it was easier.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Promotion? You need to learn a thing or two first.

Re: Promotion
you cannot fault the guy for wanting promotion ,, think about it ,, whats more appealing , stuck out on the streets slogging your guts out for 4 + hours every day ,, or sitting in a nice warm office slurping tea and eating pies and with 6 weeks service he probably knows about as much as some managers do about deliveries these day

Re: Promotion
Before considering a management role within Royal Mail you should first answer the following questions;
1) Do you have difficulty in distinguishing between asking and telling?
2) Do you always resort to shouting to make your point?
3) Do you regard compromise as a sign of weakness?
4) Are you able to consume at least 6 litres of coffee during the morning?
5) Do you believe all illness is feigned, except your own?
6) Do you scratch your anus before offering a handshake?
7) Do you believe that all OPGs are work-shy bastards?
8) Are you able to use your halitosis as a weapon to subdue the workforce?
9) Are you able to provide plausible excuses as to why you must leave the office by 10:00 am on all Saturdays?
10) Are you able to tie your own shoelaces? *
If you are able to answer “yes” to these questions, you meet the necessary criteria and are well on the road to a new career as a RM manager.
Nb: * This is not a compulsory requirement, merely preferable. Failure to answer “yes” will not exclude you from selection.

Re: Promotion
And why would what I said be bullying? If I'd said f off idiot, that might have been rude. Only those still wearing nappies would consider it bullying. You know the sort who screeches bullying and harassment if someone farts or the manager asks someone to do their share. The sort who think children shouldn't play competitive sports in case it gives them a complex.................why need England tremble.?Lincox wrote:Thats a new one DVB. Mind if it helps your sensibilities I'll email Moya to see if she's thinking of packing it in any time soon to create a vacancy:cuppa

Think he has been in the job to long to be considered for a management job.
