Mistakes and manager talks.

The other day I left a small parcel in a pouch when I came back to the office. The guys in the callers office spent ages looking for it and then came to me to ask to check my bag,..there it was. Felt embarrassed as ive never done that before. Anyway this morning my manager came to my fitting with a print out (maybe a black.mark) that had been left for him and she politely told me not to rush and to make sure pouches and vans were cleared before signing out.
Is this a warning? Ive worked in the callers office and ive come across situations where the postie has left a packet in the van but nothing has ever been said to them before.

This happens all the time at our office. nobody has ever had any warnings about it, even people doing it almost everyday. mistakes happen. i doubt its a warning but depending on your manager and how many times they speak to you about this may eventually lead to some sought of warning. just humour your manager and tell them what they want to hear and that'l be it.

We are all human and make mistakes , EVEN the people in the callers office who accuse you of losing parcels and do a bag check and then realise THEY misfiled it.

Print out may have been a customer complaint if they came to collect the packet and it could not be found. I wouldn't worry about it, at worst it may be classed as 'coaching' under the 3Cs, probbaly not even that. As your manager said, just take more care in future :)

Two things I remember from the 'Training Day' I had as a newly contracted postman..
i/ Always 'elbow-out' your pouches when you get back to the office and
ii/ A rolled-up magazine wanged through the letter-box sends a rabid dog running! (and also smashes china ornaments in any hallway!! But that's just cos' I wang every delivery!! )
