Whats the difference between reserve and cover duty.

Im not talking about annual leave reserve where the newbies can do any duty in the office to cover holidays,im talking reserve postie and cover. Im guessing cover is someone who can have 3 duties a week that covers days off but im not sure about reserve?

Cover postie covers the day off for duty holders and should be on a fixed rotation.
Reserves cover annual leave and sick absence and go here,there and everywhere.

covers will usually do a fixed 5 different duties every week depending on the duty lay out,
reserves are just that, can be shifted from pillar to post every day and generally get shat on, saturdays off very rare and always get bank holidays as their day off, the only thing i miss was going to different areas.
