Anyone seen an item number like this

Being sent somthing and i kinda worried im being ripped, iv been working for royal mail for 15 year and have never seen a number like this i thought they didn't have 4 letters at the start. iv asked the bloke about it but he's certain thats the code sent through royal mail

It's not one of ours.
It is 13 digits and ends in GB so is it possible he's misread it?

This number is boll@cks. All RM international signed-for, special and recorded delivery codes are as such:

AB123456789GB - i.e. 2 letters in the prefix, 9 digits and GB at the end = 13 characters in total.

P.S. To be sure, enter the number into RM's 'track-and-trace' facility on their website.

It might, might be a PFWW one as they have strange ones but it gets no results on their site.

Ta chaps, ive tried the tack and trace on RM's and Parcel forces site and nothing comes up, he's trying to say its sent recorded sign for, i asked him to check it again yesterday but sent the same one back, iv asked again just now and told him that i work for royal mail and have done for years and aint seen that kind of code, see what comes back.
