The North East briefing has been done and the North West Beijing today as yet according to those present the agreement has been received well with no real complaints about the delivery section once it was explained. However they was plenty of scepticism about whether Royal Mail are really going to embrace a cultural change in the workplace.

My prediction now is that it will go through on a 42% turn out with 80% of the members who vote voting yes.

i think its got done deal written all over it.!! just cos a branch recomends it, is no certainty that it will git voted in. how do you know there is no oposition to it. most in our office are.

Just because people didn't stand up and vent there opposition for whatever reason(afraid of public speaking,couldn't be arsed,disgusted/made their minds up already or in my case pissed off as no lawyer present(but apparently other meetings will get that pleasure ) to explain EXACTLY what legal protections and the legal side of things really was) doesn't mean that it was a roaring success,plenty round me not convinced yet.

Other than the chairs giving everybody arse cheeks a hard time, a good time was had by all with lashings of coffee and bic bicks.

i was present & every question that was asked was to do with the MASSIVE unresolved issues in delivery, even when we were asked not to ask anymore questions about delivery & keep them to the proposed deal every question was still about delivery. Nobody was interested in the new deal as the last one left us in such a mess. Things got very heated & ALL criticism of both management & the top cwu brass on how they are handling the way we are treated in delivery was met with a HUGE round of applause & rightly so.

It was quite clear the cwu have no clue how to resolve the culture of behavior towards delivery staff & the feeling i got in the room full of reps was that they were not voting for this deal as it will just put more confusion ontop of an already huge mess.

Maybe dingo was at a different briefing.

according to what ive heard, a lot of reps have not got a clue, so it WILL get voted in. if thats right its another farce.

The turnout will be higher than that,even BT2010 managed 54% and that didn't have the famous legal protections or anywhere near the pay rise and back pay..
If it does turn out to be as low as 42% then that's just embarrassing and no endorsement of the agreement.

I don't know what he thinks but I think the CWU are peddling a busted flush and they have misjudged the feeling on the shop floor. You obviously have a jaundiced view of the acceptance of the explanations in the North East according to a member of the audience.

Dingo, please do not come on here and punt what you believe the Ballot will be on a %, many peebs were at the same meeting and do not concur/and after only the first meeting how do you come up with this rationale, you are a respected poster on here so try and keep the standard up there (i know u love the smilies really)
