Few lads in my office totally obsessed with door to doors as the new contracts started to arrive at my office Friday 3rd January they were no longer in the office and a bunch of tossers was at the York getting theirs and would you believe it they started delivering them yesterday Saturday 4th Jan two days before the contract begins. This should be stopped by managers as the company's has signed a deal for them to be delivered from January 6th - January 11th.

To my knowledge our current contracts only stipulate a certain week for delivery. Our D2D customers have no interest in whether we deliver over 6 days or one.

I know It must be panto season.
I've got an idea, why don't we save all the letters,d2d and parcels for a whole week and deliver them all on one day,that way we can put our feet up for the rest of the week.
The downside is we only get paid for one day but what the f**k it's only money.

So what - he is right. Royal Mail will have to pay out compensation if the D2Ds are delivered out of contract. Delivering them early is out of contract and the managers will get a bollocking if it gets reported by someone.

It is entirely possible that a resident on a delivery works for the company sending them out. It happened to me once. I was working for a mail order company, and I had a D2D from that company delivered by Royal Mail 3 weeks late and after the event. I was working on commission at the time and because the D2Ds were late it affected MY wage. The company was able to claim off Royal Mail for a substantial part of the initial contract.

It is a pain for us, it is a nuisance for some customers but it keeps us in a job. I would rather have the annoyance of delivering D2Ds to ungrateful residents than trying to explain to the Dole Office why I shouldn't be sanctioned because they think I wasn't looking for another job hard enough.

It's amazing how many members slag their rep/area rep off for not doing anything but you then read stuff like this on here. Members doing the above, members coming in early, members not taking breaks, members not using proper equipment, members knocking 2 hours off a duty on a Saturday, the list goes on....... How the hell can a rep stand up in front of doms and dsms and say the revision isn't working when the members they are trying to protect are cutting their own throats.

Simple answer is you can,t. I think reps should be applauded for what they do. Yes there are exceptions that are in it either to quicken up the promotion process or think they can have a cushy life at work. However trying to deal with management that either don,t know the rules or just deny they are there and then staff that only are interested in themselves, give no support to others but kick up when it affects them, and this for no pay and no thanks. Thank you for what you do
