Contract being extended

Hi guys and girls. my contract is due to end in a month and i am getting a bit worried about it getting renewed. I really enjoy the job and i know some on here may point out that i have had a bit of a moan , regardless i like the job and the moneys good as well. My question is, how long before my contract ends will i be informed if i am getting kept on, or if they are letting me go will they say anything?

at the end of my first 6 month contract i wasnt told any info if i was going to be kept on but 2 days after the contract ended i got a permanent contract through if you werent being kept on im sure they would have comunicated that.

so you just kept on working and then you got a permanent contract. how long ago was that. what would they say something now or sooner to the end date? would love a permanent contract.

No need to worry, it was 4 years before anyone told me anything and then it was to say I was on a permanent contract

I asked at the end of my first 6 months and was told not to worry i would be kept on. Another temp contract was issued though, still hoping for the illusive permanent contract.

i dont know what to think , spoke to the union rep and didnt really fill me with a lot of confidence? hope i havent just been used for the xmas rush. how many have just been kept on for the 3 months or 6 then let go?

im not sure mate if a revision is due? being quite new im in the door tie up and straight out dont really know how everything works? i probably sound stupid but royal mail is pretty backwards to me , even with the training and everything , to me it seems like you train yourself and get on with it? suppose i will have to wait and see.

I suppose different offices may be different, but don't worry about it- everyone is always kept on. Even people that are completely useless and clearly not for this job are.

i have asked but the dims and dom dont give nothing away. its hard to even get the simplest answer to a question from these people. never known management like it
