They really are crap vans. Warning lights are on more often than they're not, like most Fiats. Sluggish low gears and spongy breaks. Never thought I'd say it but I prefer the Peugeots!

It was a bad decision to buy the Fiat diesel van for urban short journeys.Since we started P&L the van I drive has had to be "regenerated" 6 times in 3 months due to diesel particulates clogging up the exhaust sysytem (an exhaust symbol warning light comes up ). This process takes about 20 minutes to complete,which is just great when we are failing to complete our delivery a couple of times a week.It`s such a common problem that management gave us all a sheet on how to "regenerate" and "disiplinary action would be taken if we failed to carry out the regeneration"! Petrol engines would have been a better choice.

i regenerate my doblo on average twice a week,if you do it as soon as the warning light comes on it takes less than 5 minutes,the longer the warning light is on the longer it takes.

I agree that the Doblo vans and all this DPF stuff is rubbish for short stop/start journeys. I drove one some weeks back and the DPF warning light came on. Thankfully I managed to regenerate it by driving in a lower gear and holding the revs higher when driving back from the round as the journey back involves some 40mph roads. Not the best for fuel economy though, so it would seem that regeneration ultimately means fewer particulates, but potentially more Carbon Dioxide in the longer term?

Strangely the few Doblos in our office fleet seem to have disappeared to the workshop and not returned yet.
