BRANCH FORUM TO DISCUSS PROPORTIONALITY IN THE CWU: TUESDAY 28TH JANUARY 2014

This is to advise you that there will be a Branch Forum on Proportionality to be held in London on Tuesday 28th January 2014. The full details of the event are as follows:

Event: Strength, Relevance and Equality through Proportionality
Date: Tuesday 28th January 2014
Venue: TUC Congress House, Great Russell Street, London, WC1B 3LS
Time: 11.00am - 4.00pm
The forum is a non-policy making event and all branches are strongly encouraged to attend.

Branches are invited to send a maximum of four delegates and there is an expectation that branch delegations will take account of proportionality of the branch membership and will include representation from under-represented groups. The delegation however, must include at least one principle officer of the branch (Secretary or Chair).

There will be no facility for branches to bring additional visitors.

For monitoring purposes branches will be asked to pre-register their delegations and we will issue further instructions in the New Year.

An agenda for the forum and accompanying Discussion Document will also be sent to branches during January 2014.

Any queries relating to the content of this LTB should be referred to the General Secretary's Office at gsoffice@cwu.org quoting Ref. GS2.2.

Why not have a Forum to discuss Proportionality after all there's nothing more important to discuss really. If ever there was a make work for the boys that is definitely one of the worst - you know the scenario, find something to discuss otherwise people will think we don't do anything.
