Buying Holidays

Hi, when i first started as a postie (22 hours) i tried buying 2 extra weeks holiday but was told i need to have been there for a year before it can happen. So I've been there a year now and asked for the allocation but one manager says its too late to have them added to 2014 allocation and one says there is still plenty of time (up to feb) for this to happen! Just wanted to know if i can get them or not?

Also how can they still justify only giving me a 22hr contract when there are only 27hr+ duties in our office?

Finally, how many lieu days do should i be getting?

Cut off is end of February, you need to get your manager to input it into PSP soon, he is probably reluctant as he has probably agreed his budget for next year which doesnt include you taking extra holidays thus less lapsing opportunities

you would need to get everyone in office to stop doing ot to push your manager to increase your contract to 27 hours, good luck

it depends on the number of days per week you work

If other threads go down the same route then I may have to instigate pre-authorisation of posts, or issue bans as its causing too much grief for other members.

Just a suggestion to ALL members - don't take criticism personally and when you make claims try to back it up with links and resources. This will make those claims more authoritative and ultimately more helpful to others. Also if you don't think a poster is correct then post links yourself to prove the counter claim and don't make your reply personal, make it informative.

Lastly if you do report a post, please try not to do the same thing your complaining about. Not only is it petty, but it means I can't in all conscience do anything but dismiss your report or carry out the same sanctions on you.
