if an opg has had a mental illness for more than a year do they have to tell royal mail ?
would there sickness be counted against them ?
i know the post is a bit vague but can not go into much detail

If you have a medical condition it is up to you if you tell your employer unless it could impact on your H&S or others. If you do tell them it can't be held against you and you may be covered under the DDA ( or what ever it's called now ).

It would depend upon the OPG's specifics, which for obvious reasons you've omitted.

As you can imagine some mental health issues, particularly impulse control disorders or those leading to them may prove problematic especially if information is withheld.

I would suggest a discussion in the first instance with the Area Safety Representative.

Ask for an ATOS referral,citing personal issues,seek their guidance on the Equality Act etc. if RM don't know about it ,they cannot help you if it affects your attendance,if they do , different matter altogether.
