Three Days In Lieu?

I went onto p/t back in the Spring. I work 3 days a week. Two of my days off are Wednesday and Thursday every week with one day rotating. My question is, can I claim Christmas day, Boxing day and New years day back? As these are non service days for me, I need to know where I stand before knocking the gaffers door and being potentially fobbed off.

I would guess so.Well I hope so at least because i'm in the same boat.
Should be put back on automatically as far as I'm aware,but as always one of those one to keep an eye on!

It's very complicated.
As someone who only works 3 days a week you are only entitled to a pro-rata allocation of bank holidays in the leave year.
The reason for this is that a leave week for you is 3 days therefore your maximum allocation is 18 days or 6 weeks.
For someone on a 5 day week their maximum allocation is 30 days or 6 weeks.

If you add the full 8 bank holidays to both allocations you on a 3 day week would receive 26 days or 8 weeks 2 days and a 5 day week would receive 38 days or 7 weeks 3 days.

This would be unfair so you receive a pro-rata allocation to bring your overall allocation down to the equivalent of a 5 day week. It's a bit of a head f**k to be honest trying to work it out but I'm told the PSP system does it automatically now.

To understand the justification for it better think about a saturday only attendance.
Would they be credited with the full 8 bank holidays along with their 6 weeks(days) holiday?
That would be 14 Saturdays/weeks off a year.

how can the maximum be 30 days when thats standard and your owed a bank holiday therefore being owed 31 days ?

he actually explains it pretty well if you read the post properly, he doesnt say the maximum is 30 days including bank holidays, he actually says its the maximum before you add them on, im sure most people could understand that one

look at this way.....if your allocated Wednesday and Thursday off every week,,,,,you will never get the other bank holidays on your day off,,,,ie,,,easter mon,,,good fri,,,may day,,,all these are fri or mon,,,,I think its only xmas,,boxing and new years,,,,so id like to think you are owed these days

thats also a good thing having every wed thu off as you will benefit from bank hols such as good fri easter monday mayday etc
