Clear frame or not prep testing ?

Manager said they can test me anytime they like on my frame Union rep said no it has to be an empty frame and 25 letters a minute...Problem being tested when frame is full of mail and only managing 15 or 16 letters due to the slots being full with Dds and mail plus mail out a try all loose and upside down and wrong way round doing my nut in...Can anyone show me in black and white what is the correct procedure for prep test.... Is the boss right or the union rep...?

That's the problem I have.. union says empty frame manager saying not...Who is right..is it not down in black and white anywhere thanks..

Have attached the national agreement and also the good prep guide that the business tend to ignore because it means that most walks will require more wings to make them fit for purpose.

If your manager wishes to check your prep rate on a frame with mail already in it then ask him/her for a print out of the summary page of the IWT and also a printout of the prep performance page on the day they are checking.

If your unit is using 100BSI then prep would be around 10.6 items per minute or 635 items per hour, so as long as you are able to place 10 items in the frame you are meeting spec.

The main issue is the time allocated within the IWT isn't sufficient and has a fundamental formula error. The prep requirements page will identify this problem and will try to guide you through the process.

Prep rate is 10.6 (100BSI)
walk 1 total prep time on Monday is 2.20 and this is broken down into the following elements tie down 0.43mins, 18mins for D2D, so you would take tie down and D2D from the 2.20 leaving us with 1.19mins of prep time. You now need to look at the prep traffic total for your walk (excluding D2D) since each walk will have a total amount of items against each walk. This walk is showing 1296items (excluding D2D) for Monday and working at 635 items per hour you will need around 2hrs to prep this mail and not the 1.19mins that is given by the tool.

I dont think the tests that Ninja has shown can be used for individual performance testing. They are office based tests.
