Throwing 2 walks in.

Been on job for 8 months now,agreed to go full time over xmas period so starting at 6.50-7.00 every day.I have been put on a job but partner comes in at 8.30 and i am expected to get both our walks prepped.Well no matter how fast i try and go i just cannot do it! It takes me 15-20 mins just to throw the d2d's in before i even start on sequenced mail,then i have to go and tray up all the live mail and start with that.An hour and a half flys by and before i know it he is stood behind me making sarcastic comments,i try and laugh them off in banter but i do not think he is joking."Well the guy before you used to get it thrown in.." Oh yeah and what time did he start then? Am i just slow or is this expecting too much?? Any tips on going faster? At the moment i take one letter at a time and try and put it in the frame quickly and then take the next,is it better to flick through and see if there are any more for that address?? Am really struggling and it is starting to stress me out.

mail is up right now so bound to take longer, and some are naturally faster at prepping, i can throw 2 walks out by the time the guy next to me done 1
i'd guess you know the frames too, end of, don't rush it has you'll probably end up with missorts and just jokingly tell your oppo to shut the fcuk up!

What are the start/finish prep times for both duties because 1h30m sounds like the prep time for one duty to me?

Are you sure you're not just supposed to prep what you can until his start time?

I spoke to my manager and he is putting me on a different walk next week! He said that the guy i work with has been passing the buck and blaming me for things but when the manager looked into a few incidents it could not have been me.. what a bastard! He also said that i am not expected to get the walks ready,just to do my best... sounds like my "partner" was just trying to pressure me into doing more so he doesn't have to.I asked what he has blamed me for but manager said he cannot say anything more as he has already said too much and he made me promise not to confront him about it.

I am very tempted to say something i am furious! He talks to everyone so i can only imagine what he has been saying about me to everyone.

Oh well bollox to him i have learned a lesson anyway.

You should, because it justifiably is, report your so-called colleague for bullying.

I wouldn't say a thing it may be they are building a discipline case against him, and they may not, but if they are you could land yourself in a lot of hot water.

What I would do while its fresh in your mind is document what happened with this postie and how it made you feel. Make no personal comments about him just list the facts and how it made you feel. Then if he continues his actions you will have a written record which will help you.

That's fine as long as you also record the fact that the Manager has informed you about that colleague blaming you for their failures and that upon investigation they were found to be untrue.

For starters throwing out 2 walks is almost impossible except maybe on a Tuesday. Throwing out 2 walks at Xmas is just not possible, at all - not at all...

Moreover, your partner coming in at 8.30am is too early given that you started at 7.00am... He is either a 30/32 hour part-timer who has been allowed to have someone throw out his mech and just a bit more before he arrives at his normal time at 8.30am.

Or he is a 25/27 hour part-timer (I doubt it) that is coming in very early. If his start time is about 9.15am then you would be able to do more and then he can just come in and do just a bit on missorts or late mech, packets, redirection, bag up and out by something like 10.10am - i am guessing here.

The other bloke he is referring to might actually have been coming in early or he might be fibbing just to make you do more.

It seems to me he is a more senior part-timer than you are but he is happy being a part-timer for various reasons... However, because you have been less than a year there, he thinks he can wind you up and make you look bad

before jumping in with a grievance you need to make sure of his start times, most vary in ours ours
i'd have to lick carol vord'a'names doodar for a week to get an answer on the starting times of everyone in our office

Nobodies questioned what the managers said.Managers manipulate. Maybe It's just me,but it doesn't ring true.
