New Deal Backpay

Hi guys, i will be leaving the wonderful world of royal mail at the end of January and was wondering will i get the back pay even if i have left?, hoping someone with a bit more knowledge will be able to clarify this cheers

Dunno if the Conservatives have got around to changing the law on this yet, but you were always entitled to any back pay due whilst you were working at a particular company.
I would make you manager and payroll aware that you expect payment or you'll take them to court. This is easier and cheaper than it may appear. Search online for 'Certificate of Personal Service of Statutory Demand'. Issue it to your former manger and basically a company has 30 days to pay or you can apply to have them classed as insolvent. I would use this myself for outstanding bonus payments, but not whilst I am still employed by RM!

I left on ihr in Oct and was told by my rep that l was entitled to any back pay and any lump sums until my last day of service

Good on you for getting out........... but my advice would be to not burn any bridges.

Whilst it will be every tempting to tell him exactly what you think of him, what will you do if the new job does not work out ?.

Smile, shake his hand if you have to, but all the while remind yourself that you'll never have to see his ugly mug again, and everyone else also thinks he's a ****.

Ref my last post I am not entitled to the £200 lump sum as even though I was in post on 1st Oct, you have to be in Royal Mails employ in Dec to recieve it.Hair splitting l know.But l am entitled to the back pay from April to 21 Oct. Go figure. Hope this helps you mate

Yes I'm pretty sure it'll get voted in as well and when, as with BT2010, the s**t hits the fan it'll be the same old refrain -"well the members voted it in", not the CWU bottled it again and left no room to manoeuvre.
