D2D coming in late

This week one box of door 2 doors came in which because it is Xmas pressure I did them all on the Monday. When I got back to the office on Wednesday afternoon I was faced with another lot of D2D that were for the same week.

Is it correct that if they come in late we don't have to do them ?
A colleague told me that he was told by a Dom that if they come in late to send them straight back, is this correct ?

Does a official policy exist to explain the procedure ?

Why do them all on a Monday, that's not part of the policy for a start. If the other lot came in Wednesday afternoon then I'd guess you do 33% a day (thurs, fri, sat). You'll need extra time built into prep to do this.

Official policy is for Dom to call D2D walk bundling centre to ask what to do, they will either say delay till next week, start now, or send back. They will make the decision after contacting the d2d sender

If they come in late, as mentioned, split them into the remaining days. If you are not given enough prep time and you can't complete and you don't fancy the OT, cut off.

I thought this too. The only procedure I have read states we have from Monday to Saturday and they must be completed by the Saturday, unless they have a specific date to be delivered on. There is no such procedure for a percentage per day.
So on that basis, I would agree that I have until next Thursday (they came in after I had left the office, so Wednesday doesn't count) to get them completed.

Its still a piss take though getting D2D during Xmas pressure.

You will have what the customer agrees with Royal Mail once the customer has been informed of the failure.
Since it's likely that it's a Royal Mail failure then the business has two choices,do what the customer wants within reason or refund an expensive D2D contract and face the possibility of a lost contract.

Do you really think that if faced with that scenario the business does not have a right to then come to you and expect you to deliver them over say 3 days providing the resources to do so are put in place?

Door-2-Dustbins? During the Christmas pressure fortnight? The bastards who decide that it's right, and proper, for us to be weighed down even more with that crap, should be tied to the back of a Horse-drawn cart, and flogged all the way from Lands End to John-O-Groats.

As already stated, there is no procedure to do a percentage per day.

Well for one, that is not the point.
And second, I did them all on the Monday to get them out of the way, knowing I would have enough to do without the pressure of knowing I had D2D to do.

It is the point . If You had only done 20 percent Monday when the other lot of D2Ds turned up You would have had 80 percent left to do instead of none so would not have felt You had wasted Your time.
