CWUTV talks to Deputy General Secretary Dave Ward about the landmark agreement that the CWU has reached with Royal Mail. The agreement gives workers legal protections on their terms and conditions, increases pay over three years, sets out improved industrial stability and safeguards pensions.
The agreement also includes a strategy to grow parcels, retain letters and sustain and grow the USO. The agreement will be placed before CWU members for acceptance in January 2014 in a single member postal ballot.

Just what is the strategy to grow parcels though?
We all know they take a lot longer to deal with than letters so our delivery times need to be increased but all we'll get is cuts.

I ignored the sales speak!
However it was great to see that the CWU are happy to condone a post woman pushing a HCT along the street, not watching where she was going, not holding either of the two handles and reading the mail on route!
