Contract Hours - Postman with Delivery

Dear all,

I will be starting work with RM soon. My contract is 3 months, 25 hours per week from 9.30-2.30pm.
When I received the contract the job role title is mentioned as Postman/postwoman. There is nothing mentioned about the delivery role which was included when I applied for the Job?

1)Any reason why they omitted the delivery word from the title?
2) Since I will be having only one day off, how they will divide the 25 hours for 6 days? If its 5 hours per day it would be 30 hours per week?
3) If any overtime is available, must I work extra hours or am i able to choose to do OT or not?
4) Has anyone worked a similar shift like mine and worked after 2.30pm or start work before 9.30am?

hi im on the same contract you will work 5 hrs a day over 6 days with 1 day off and my hours of work since the begining of the year have been 7.15 till 2.15 so yes theres plenty of chance for overtime

2. You'll be working 5 days Monday to Saturday with 1 rotational day off. Sundays aren't counted as part of the working week because you'll never work them. So you get 1 day off Monday to Saturday and Sunday off too.

3. Overtime is always optional, but you'll probably find it difficult to finish your duty without going over your time for the first few weeks. Make sure your manager knows if there are any days you can't work late to finish, and make sure you fill in a docket for all OT.

4. I usually work 8:45 to 2:30 but I agreed to come in at 6:40 during Christmas pressure. Finished at 4 today!

Thanks for the reply.

Since I have other commitments my contract hours mentioned in the contract(9.30-2.30pm) is ideal. I dont mind working after 2.30pm but not earlier than 9.30am.
BTW How do you apply for the delivery job role(collecting post from offices/postboxes) Is that a separate job role?
