Petitioning for a union rep chang?

Hey all,

In my office we have a union rep that basically uses his position to lord it up, victimise people he doesn't like and cherry pick the sweetest shifts.
I am looking for advice with regards to what the procedure is re elections, and frequency of, and what you can do with regards to the cwu.
Obviosuly i am a cwu member, as are colleagues who feel the same, and we no longer want to be represented by this guy. Cheers folks any info appreciated :coolr

the elections passed at the end of November if I remember correctly and the details of which should have been posted on your CWU pin board in your DO for all to see. Perhaps this was not done by your rep :no no .

as far as I am aware, you can at any time ask for a ballot to be taken at your DO, just ask the CWU http://www.cwu.org/cwu-branches.html how to go about it if you don't want to involve your rep.

of course, you also need to put someone up against him in the said ballot.

You need to ask your Branch for the details for your area.

In ours it goes something like this:
You sign a petition of no confidence in your rep and send it to your Branch. (I'd send a copy to Wimbledon as well)
Your rep has to be given a right of reply at a meeting - the time and place of which will be determined by your Branch.
You then have another vote of no confidence.

Don't expect your Branch to be too helpful.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

That's a local thing doorstepped. Local elections can happen at anytime of year ....... our's are in January :neutral:
