So from what I can see we are due to get a £200 Christmas bonus plus £200 due to this deal plus a backdated 3% payrise going forward.

Anyone care to say what this will mean in our pockets for our weekly wage and a gestimate of how much the 3% back pay is likely to get us.

Sorry to be brutal about it but with young kids and Christmas finances are always stretched this time of year so need to know roughly were we are moneywise.

I would imagine the 3% increase will just be on your basic pay which equates to about £11 a week gross X about 32 weeks. I cant see in the agreement, when the back pay is being paid out. i.e before Xmas or after. I also understand that we will get £200 + £200 before Xmas.

£750 all in then. Minus tax and NI an pension, 500 quid.

It will not be paid till January earliest, maybe February, so anywhere between 40-48 weeks of £11 per week so in the range of £440- £528 for a full time contract

To work out your back pay surely you just times your total earnings so far this year,from your last pay slip,by 0.03 ?

However if there are any issues to warrant a national strike we now cannot take any action, because if we do the whole agreement, 5 years and all is void - thanks to the union

Additionally, the parties have agreed that all Royal Mail Group employees will be paid a £200 lump sum before Christmas. This is a separate payment, in addition to the current Christmas bonus, and is not dependant on the overall agreement being endorsed.
