delivery managers - managers delivery!!!

with all the bullying and harrassement caused by managers failing to understand that deliveries are far too long and revisions are not fit for purpose, trying to get us posties to finish the delivery even if we tell them we will go over!!! would,nt it be an idea that, before a manager gets a job in a delivery office, he has to complete a few of the walks that they say are achievable, problem solved no more going over as the manager would not complete a delivery in the time he says, it can be done!!!

we tried that ,, we even had some posties offer £50 each to charity if we could get our manager to do it for a week ,, it would have made a tidy sum for charity ,, the answer ,, well we are still waiting , but i bet i see the devil on ice skates before this happens

I don't think this is such a good idea... anyone could do a round once a week and find it a doddle, it's the grind of doing it day in day out, week in week out with no recovery time that takes it's toll on your body and your mind.

DOMs certainly need to walk the miles that we walk on a weekly basis, for at least two months.
Then, let them pontificate to overworked employees.

Sometimes managers are brought in to help

We are still struggling after 2 and half years since the modernisation changes. Had managers drafted in to help out as walks are uncovered.

Two managers covered a HCT walk between them on Thursday, It was awful weather, windy and it rained for ages.

One phoned up after a while requesting a van to pick them up with their mail as they were cold, drenched and wet. The Dom sorted this out. It was an eye opener as the morning after they admitted that it was a lot harder than they expected.

It was pleasing to hear this but galling at the same time, if I phoned up and brought work back It would be classed as Wilful Delay.

It's time that senior managers were forced to walk in our shoes and see what it is really like instead of pointless WTL sessions.

If you think that's good. Our office has planners working on our front counter. Queues are 100s of metres long. The poor ole planners do not like it.
