Failing a special.

Ive had a member fail a special delivery in my unit today. The special was delivered around 13:20, the pair on the park & loop duty forgot about it. They are both stressed for their jobs,its the 1st time for both of them & ive told them they will prob just have a warning & it will be put on their records. Just wondered if any other reps on here or anyone can shed some light on the same situation of a failed special. Many thanks.

so 1pm specials dont have to be delivered for 1pm on a Saturday?

Did they use a PDA why did they not use the old paper P4550 card and fiddle the time on it afterwards? they do take a stern line in our office you deliver them late on the PDA system hence the back up plan I use if I ever need to.

not quite true, SG are guaranteed for their delivery time on a saturday, from the royal mail website:

Can I have something delivered on Saturday?
For a small fee, Post Offices throughout the UK will accept your items on Friday for 9:00am* or 1:00pm delivery on Saturday.

Other specials should be taken out and attempted unless its a business who has a shut notice for the saturday, these other normal specials are not guaranteed for anytime on a saturday

its pretty clear on there

SG's are guaranteed for their appropriate delivery times on a saturday, others should still be taken out but are not guaranteed

Well let us all know if anything happens sometimes I worry myself about things like that but why did they not use the paper card P4550 once they realised it was late would have save you and them a lot of bother.
