Joseph Kennedy said much the same about Britain in 1940. He just couldn't see anything other than the Nazis goose stepping down Whitehall. It might turn out to be a long job, but we'll win in the end whatever happens in this latest phase in the attack on our class.
The Industrial Workers of the World. The union whose members never scab!

If we don't win at least we'll go down fighting, with our pride and integrity intact. We may not have anything else, but at least we'll be able to look in the mirror and not feel ashamed. We have stood up for our principles unlike some.

NOTHING TO LOSE

Post by deadbox »

We cannot lose this struggle, because we have NOTHING to lose

I RM get their way 27% of us will be gone, the remaining F/T people will be forced onto P/T hours for a full time workload

They too will leave in time as they cannot support a family on P/T wages

They in turn will be replaced by short term people on LOWER pay, Terms & Conditions

The PUBLIC SERVICE will suffer even more

RM will be privatised

AL & AC will walk away with SHARE OPTIONS / PAYOUT worth ££££MMMMM

Am I right, or have I mis-read the "business plan"

the government wont allow this to go under

The government wont allow RM to go under.I know its tough but the longer it drags on the more people are becoming aware of the situation.

I feel then the work ethic will then be addressed and JAF.

PURE AND SIMPLE.

I think your right... Except RM dream that ultamately a D.O off about 100 will be reduced to about 10, with all the mail coming in from M.Cs walk sequenced and the mail be shipped out to doorsteps where students housewifes and active OAPs will deliver in their own time!!! Packets and parcels will be contracted out to any dude with a van... Leaving the 10 that are working in the D.O to deal with specials etc.. Firms and rurals will just have to collect their own mail.. THATS THE ULTAMATE FUTURE OF ROYAL MAIL!!!! Oh and yes AL and AC will get their payouts worth ££££MMMMM.. Be assured!!
SO.. Its worth a f-cking fight.. innit???

Your Doomed

Post by mailjock »

Well we might be and I think every right-thinking RM employee has to accept that is a possibility.

But we will only be doomed if we crumble and cross the picket line and if we crumble sadly we will be doomed to become the living dead.

Cos that's the other thing we all know - if the union is destroyed then this won't be a job worth doing in the next few years and even the strike breakers who could swallow the s**t that would follow our defeat would find that they were of no use to the company as FTs are no longer required.

It will be a shifting swirling mass of casuals working a few hours a week delivering the letters and as someone else mentioned - parcels will be done by white van man.

It's OK for management as they will still have a role - they'll be delivering the Specials.

That's the AL vision of the future - it ain' our vision - and tied in with our vision is the concept of a public service and the USO - we are the real defenders of Royal Mail and most certainly not the vultures who want to destro the company and parcel it off in another privatisation which would end up in customers paying more for an inferior service.

If it wasnt for the real Trade Union Movement (not the faux labour Party of today) you, 'realworker', wouldnt have the luxury of working long hours and getting paid for them as you'd be doing it for nothing.

Thanks your lucky stars that there are still people in this country willing to stand up and be counted on behalf of the ordinary hard working man...

Forgive them for they no not what bullshit they spout...
