Moya does make me laugh.Delivering a great service this xmas

Post by Post1977 »

This comes from moya

Always use Delivery to Neighbour
Allow customers sufficient time to answer the door before you complete a 'something for you card'

Yes Moya I've got all the time in the world to do that.

In fairness that's just basic advice which we all should do anyway.

The deliver to neighbour bit is a pain for detached houses but I always give it go if I think they might be in. If not I bring it back.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

You've only got 30 seconds to deliver it

I think its less than that in Georoute. Something like 2.5 secs to get the mail through the door. :Very Happy

As a driver you tend to go to the same houses with packets all the time ( I know Xmas is different )
You get to know who will normally be in or out
Weather you can leave at a neighbours
Or even if they get on with the neighbours

The regulator agreed this after our last revision in my office, we haven't had a revision since so time hasn't been allocated in my duty to go to a neighbours house with a packet if the recipient isn't in.

What happens If you deliver it to neighbour and they steal the parcel, is it our fault?

In WTL tuesday we got told that we need to reduce the amount of p739s going through letterboxes as apparently mgmt are not happy about it. Apparently they are now "counting them" (f**k knows how) and telling us we are using far too many. :mad

If we love parcels so much, then why has the official amount of time given to deliver them been reduced?! Our DOM said it was now 58 seconds as of last week. In fairness to him, he said he had no idea how that was supposed to be compatible with leaving it with a neighbour. Bugger that, unless they're tippers

neighbours soon get pissed off with us keep tapping them up to take parcels as its always the same people who are in during the day.
Now stopped doing it after the abuse.
They don't want us bringing back docketed parcels because they haven't got the storage to keep them

Picture this

Chap chap day chap chap....chap chap

*wait*

No answer

Walk down path, out the gate and then up the next door neighbours path

Chap chap day chap chap....chap chap

*wait*

No answer

Walk down path, out the gate then back to the original recipients door

*write out 739 saying to collect at the office*

*put through door*

*walk down the path and thennnnnnnnn

''Sorry postie I was in the shower do you have a parcel for me''

Its the next door neighbour on the other side of a big fence

''No sorry I was chapping to see if you could take it for Mrs Smith as she's not in;;

''no problem that'll save her a trip''

*put second 739 through door saying to disregard first and that its now left with neighbour*

*go out gate and back to the neighbours door and hand her the parcel*

*door shuts and thennnnnnnnn one second later

''Postieeeee do you have something for me? I was round the back there''

Its the original recipient waving two 739 cards

''I've left it with number 13 *roll eyes* two minutes''

*back to the neighbours door*

chap chap day chap chap......chap chap

''Hiya me again, Mrs Smith was round the back, i'll take that parcel back off ye''

*back down path, up Mrs Smiths path*

''There you are :Very Happy ''

''Wait a minute this isn't for me, I don't know anyone of that name and I've lived here 20 years''

'' :mad ''

They would have that scenario play out 200 times a day if we'd allow it.

Rationing 739's  even If you deliver to next door you still have to leave a card with the intended recipient.
