6 months service question

I'm hoping someone on here may be able to help me.

I'm just about to pass my 6 month probation, but due to office circumstances I'm only going to get another 6 month contract. My question is In 2 parts
1 - is it true you pay goes up slightly after 6 months ( if so do you know how much by?)
2 - as they are giving me another 6 month contract can they keep me on the same pay if I'm due a rise?

I got a small rise, about 15 a week before tax after my initial 6 months. It's automatic.

I rang HR just before mine was due to ask if it was automatic. I was told that the DOM would have to "put a tick in a box" on the system so that it would go through, and that it may take a week to be picked up by the pay run. Mine all went through ok when it was supposed to.
