Sick on the rise?

Had our revision in April and just wondering for everyone else whos in a newly revised office suffering from more staff going sick? We have about 5-6 at any time in an office of about 70. Was never this bad and now we dont have staff to cover sick like we did before.

The doms will be knock knocking on their doors soon your office will look like casualty all sorts of bits and bobs falling off them that's no joke either!

There's always going to be people 'sick'..

We had a guy last month, giving the vocal 'Woe is me" speeches, dragging his leg behind him like something out of a Monty Python film.

The same day, the vending machine breaks giving out free packets of crisps.. I kid you not, the same guy was hustling across the floor like something out of Forrest Gump - damn that boy could move.

Finished his crisps, then went back into dragleg mode




Back to the original Q tho' - Yes, I'd like to see the year on year sick records pre revision, I'd agree recent times are a lot higher.

The thing is delivery is not the safe haven it once was try if for a day of two or twenty years no fun.

Its made out by managers that deliveries are easier because we have trollies. But now were walking for 5 hours almost. You can feel it in your legs

i genuinely dont understand how RM Got it so wrong- it doesnt take a genius to understand that by making things easier for us, they were making things harder. I Dont even understand, how we can all be given extra work loads and it now turn a blind eye (or as that part of the dispute)
pre-revision finishing at 2.30-3pm was on a very heavy day, where we would visit each door. Now that is the norm, And with all the parcels, you have to be super organised, luckily i have a great partner, and we get the job done well, only because we each know our places and we're not lazy. But we dont finish till 2.30 most days, and leaving office at 8.30, sometimes coming back for a break, thats at least 5 and half hours. How is that even legal leave us out in the snow and rain for so long? Or just on our feet.
I'm not surprised people are going sick, it was a hard job before. And now its unbearable, its certainly not meant for anyone older. Its meant to cripple us. My partner is 35. I joked about what he would be doing in 10 years. he said there was no way his body would cope with this for another 10 years, seeming really depressed. Luckily i have an escape route. But... what planet is RM on? THOSE SMARTY ARSE GRADUATE STUDENTS NEED TO REALLY BE OUT ON THE STREETS. I'M SURE THEY'LL MANAGE FINE!

I have it from a friend who has a friend at Amazon Peterborough Warehouse that this 'mad Monday' they smashed previous records, were taking 24k a SECOND in orders (across the group) and were 25% up on last years mad Monday. Expect massive packet volumes this Wed/Thur....
