is the outside work (duty time) 4 hrs 15 mins ? .if a hct duty is taking 4 hrs 45 mins on a wed and thurs and they are trying to add more on because night shift is in and everyone is getting out on delivery by 9/9.30 so the line manager is saying you can complete with the extra on inside your working hours.2.30 with break off.union rep saying that 4hrs 15 is the max for outside work and if its longer then need looking at.with the extra on it will take 5hrs plus

This seems to vary with office. When they look at duty times they normally only include the actual delivery time and not inc travel. Or HCT duties are planned for a max 4hr 5 mins (delivery time) which is prob around the 4hrs 30min actual time from in and back.

I ve seen some offices planned on just 3 hr 45 mins delivery time.

its only 2 mins walk from office to first delivery point and about 5 mins back in after walk done,5 hours way to much ?

If you are getting out too early, then why is the night shift in?
You clearly don't need it.
And if you keep it in, then either you have very long delivery spans to fill your working day or you end up with more p/t staff to decrease the efficiency of your indoor operation.

Is this a Christmas night shift thing?

yes its in for xmas,if I wasn't getting out at these times I wouldn't complete in my time and hand back,i would put the full story on here but don't want to get myself in trouble if it gets passed on

I don't get it, they're paying OT for nights which enables you to do more outside work?

Why not just put the staff who are on nights on the collapsed walks instead?
