North Westerly gales will reach severe gale force at times during Friday across parts of northeast Scotland and the Northern Isles. Gusts of 60 to 65 mph are expected with isolated gusts of 70 mph possible over more exposed headlands, especially across Orkney.

The public should be aware of the possibility of disruption to travel.
An area of low pressure will move east into the northern North Sea during Friday, with very strong northwesterly winds developing in its wake. The strongest winds are expected to affect parts of northeast Scotland and the Northern Isles with gusts of 70 mph possible.

Gales with gusts of 50-60 mph, may also affect some exposed headlands along the coast of northeast England and then north Norfolk during Friday evening.

A mere breeze.

I remember going out on delivery in a coastal area on a bike with the wind/gale against me, a good 16kgs dead weight on the front and I was stood up on the pedals (I consider myself strong in the leg) and barely moving, the good old days, give me that over a paired van any day!!

Obviously in this day and age it would be considered too risky, bloody blame culture has ruined this country
