Advice moved off job

Hello,

A friend at work who has his own rural job, has been told he will be moved about to cover some other jobs at Christmas purely because a rural floater is doing nights.

There are other people what would happily do nights and some are not even signed for jobs so wouldn't cause a problem at all, it seems the floater is one of the special ones.

Where does he stand on this? He's the only rural who's getting moved about in Christmas pressure weeks.

If he is a duty holder (floater role) they cannot plan him to cover duties in advance without discussing the changes with him. Only on the day they can change your duty in an emergency covering sick etc . Then they have 24 hour to cover that duty, and following day your back on yours.
Put in a grievance and advance it to stage 2 instantly if your not happy.
