Withdrawal of cars on delivery

Hiya all,
Could somebody please confirm the date/timing of the withdrawal of cars on delivery, our deployment date of the 2010 delivery revision has been and gone. Long story short, we have no vans for sharing do we still use our cars or go old school and go with the drivers and get dropped off with our first bags?

Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond National Agreement,
'Delivery Methods' section, page 23 states that "Private cars on delivery will cease upon
the deployment of a Delivery Methods revision in a unit

I don't get the 2nd part of your question. You use what delivery equipment was agreed during your revision.

RTP, thanks for the reply, as for using equipment we only use rubber bands from the old way of working, before the 2010 agreement.. We still have no vans, no trolleys, no partners, no new walks, no pda's, no anything well apart from rubber bands..

Then you haven't had a delivery methods revision so in theory private cars on delivery are still allowed although I wouldn't.
It's incredibly stupid to use something that cost you that much money for the benefit of your employer.
At no point ever was the use of private cars mandatory.
That's what van drivers are for.

The postie will be the one liable for driving a vehicle not in accordance with their insurance , so that's all the costs of any RTA , the court costs and the 6 penalty points. The line manager and DOM will deny all knowledge of any such practices going on in the DO and the postie will get the boot for gross misconduct of failing to follow H&S procedure.

Problem being that most people who used their cars on delivery still think that their insurance which covered them legally before has not changed, ergo they insist they are okay. However, the clincher is that you need your employer's permission when using it for business. Once the bond is withdrawn there is no longer any official permission and they are no longer covered.

2 walks have been agreed by the powers, and the planners will be back in 2014 to complete the remaining 100+ walks/duties
