Look some of you may know the heat is on and I can no longer safely give information out.

But I do have an opinion which they cannot stop.

There will now be an agreement. That in my opinion is no longer in doubt and will probably be concluded before the Moya Greene managers roadshow on Friday.

Yes the extensions have been frustrating and the lack of information even more so.

But the aim of the ballot and the unions campaign has always to get a deal.

I think that we should all now reserve our position on the words of the agreement when it eventually comes out. It will be that what decides whether you think its was a good enough deal not to jeopardise by taking action.

Those who say they will reject the deal whatever it says is mindless. Lets see the overall agreement and then decide. I dont think we will have too long to wait.

I don't think there's been any doubt over the last few weeks that an agreement is coming, once the extensions started and it started getting close to Christmas pressure we were never going on strike.

Let's hope the agreement is worth waiting for, thanks for the info you've posted up Dingo.

Weve got people in our office who were talking about crossing the picket line now shouting and wailing at how crap the union are. As ive said in another post i think it's purely a money issue for too many and a lump of money will swing it whatever the rest of the agreement is.

Remember when we were told that there will be no deal unless every one of the issues had been met!

The pensions issue has not been met, simply put away for another day so would you be in a position to refute that the same isn't about to happen with the delivery issues too?

unless delivery is sorted out they can shove any deal. Pay does not mean anything if we have got to keep living through hell everyday. Yes your right we can all have an opinion and here is the opinion of thousands of postmen/women: GET DAVE AND BILLY IN OUR DO'S & SEE WHAT OUR WORKLOAD IS LIKE & WHAT WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH FROM MANAGERS! To All & Sunder. Let's look at the finer detail of the agreement. Far too easy shooting from the backbenches. A good rep will get the best from it. A member criticises and holds someones coats,(HQ). Back your reps! If you do not have one,then stand! If you are a manager on here,watch your back! A headcount has been asked for "surplus" managers from the new owners! A lot of money saved! It's also a good idea to remember who paid for the coat in the first place.

Fair enough but you also need the time,the patience and the support of at least the majority of members.At the end of the day the union gathers subs on the basis of representing all members so if an office doesn't have a rep it's down to the branch to see that those members don't get screwed over.

The CWU are on the negotiating table.

At the negotiating table not on it,unless they are part of the menu or something entirely inappropriate is occurring.
I hate this jingoistic crap about as much as the "union shafted us" crap,It usually comes from someone who hasn't seen a hard day's work in a long time.
