I believe Scheduled Start- Finish Times was one of the topics for the delivery discussions.
Whether the union and RM could ever come up with a form of words that would effectively stop people starting early and whether RM would even stick to it is another matter.

In my office they don't have to as most of them do come in early work their breaks and so on. But they also do work over their time and don't claim. leaving the people who do the job right to be the bad guys

it does surprise me a bit that it happens,,,,,yeah it used to at our d.o coming in hour or 2 early,,,then 18 months ago management to there credit refused it,,,everybody started on the time.

everybody also left for delivery at the same time.

ok at the moment its gone pear shaped because since the summer weve been on park an loop and its a mess,,,,but still not allowed in before start time.

I regard myself as a quick postman and i often finish over an hour early! I'm guesing you are quite slow and therefore resentful towards the so-called "runners"? Most problems in delivery offices are from postmen sniping at each other............ Often out of jealousy !!

I regard myself as a quick postman and i often finish over an hour early! I'm guesing you are quite slow and therefore resentful towards the so-called "runners"? Most problems in delivery offices are from postmen sniping at each other............ Often out of jealousy !!

When you mean quick, do you mean you don't take a break, you don't use the proper equipment, you actually run/jog around the delivery, you cut corners ie over walls/fences etc, you leave gates open, you doorstep packets....the list goes on. I honestly cant believe you can knock over an hour off a delivery span without doing some or all of the above.

. Point taken, the problem in my office is that a lot of the staff don't understand the concept of pand l . Particularly part timers who come in early and prep 1 walk only , whili im expected to prep 2 , and the runners in our office is the majority. At break time there is less than a third of staff in the canteen.......... It all puts pressure on myself and others to replicate them

I regard myself as quite a quick postman, I start at 6.30 and usually am one of the first back.
I'm only 25 and work in an office with the majority aging from 40-78. I understand I will be a lot quicker walking (although it's at a quicker pace) than a lot of the guys and girls in the office.
Why should I slow down? Yes there could be frustration at the time I finish but with the way the company solely runs on seniority us young noobys need a perk somewhere.
