If you've left your van unlocked by accident and IB discover it do they leave any tale tale signs they've been there? Besides a bollocking when I get back to the office. Strange things with my van when I got back to it. Probably just paranoid.

If you left your van unlocked and the IB found it, they will probably be sitting in it when you get back, if you left the keys in it I've been told of stories of the IB driving it back to the depot.

It is not beyond the realms of possibilities that a Van can become unlocked by accident:

The fob was accidental pressed in the pocket or a packet presses the botton but that is the only one that comes to mind.

I suppose an act of god like produces some electrical or sonic interference (thunder/lightning, bomb blast and some dodgy activity by the the Feds e.g radio jamming or similar; could be another - I doubt it?

One door not properly shut or a strap or bag/packet preventing the door closing is not accidental...

More than likely they'd take your PDA, or Log book if you've left the front open. If you've left the back open they may take work or possibly photographic evidence for a disciplinary case.

well one of my windows was open :-/ don't recall opening it though?? I did at one point during the day but im sure I closed it...well nothing happened when I got back and im sure they would of jumped on it if the IB had found it unlocked.

We have seen windows down when coming back to the van, they can do this themselves so it can be a electrical fault and van's not locking/unlocking

Bippas are okay, though I wouldn't want to try doing a shared-van delivery from one. If you want a shite van try either (a) a Combo with >100k on the clock and 3-4 PMT1s elastic banded to the front of the log book listing all the non-repaired faults or (b) one of the new Fiat Doblos. The latter being complete with an idiotic auto-start/stop system which won't restart the engine if you open the drivers door whilst it's stopped, and where you have to manually disengage said start/stop each time you start the engine.

Interesting how the Royal Mail is giving us vans where you shouldn't exceed 50mph on normal roads, and yet they don't seem to think this will affect how long deliveries take ... Didn't see that coming, no not even slightly!

Strangely I prefer both of the vans you mention, although the Fiat annoys by being slightly too wide, which almost caught me out the first time I drove one. Both drive better than the Peugeot which has a horrible clutch, resulting in most of them in our yard having their clutches burnt out at some stage.

I've also had electrical problems, with windows either stopping working or going upwards instead of down etc lights just stop working, engine warning issues, problems with the doors not shutting properly unless the window is open slightly.

They are just cheap horrible French tat. Even the RAC drivers say they are notoriously bad, but they like them because they keep them busy. The Vauxhall Corsa combo is the best van IMO - bullet proof in terms of reliability. Shame they are so low to the ground, as they play havoc with my back disc problem.
