TV Parcels ad, New Red Jackets...

Seen the new "We Love Parcels" ad on TV. Noticed many of the "post-people" wearing what must be Brand New Issue jackets.

Is this to be a "New Standard Issue" to ALL , or just limited to certain areas/actors?!
If not, does anyone know the Manufacturers as it may be worth buying one, as the usual Orange/Blue ones are next to useless in Extreme Cold/Wet weather.

If you're refering to the stormproof coats then they look the same as what's available on the Dimensions coporate wear website to me (RYR1 - RM Stormcoat Class 2 National ) although they do look more red than orange in the ad

and why are a couple of them actor/posties not wearing hi viz vests, at least one seen pushing the lwt instead of pulling it
one muppett smiling whilst its peeing down, but most of all why do "we love parcels" when the vast majority of staff know them as packets.
so at what size does a packet become a parcel?

During my "training", I was told..."If its as big as yer foot its a Packet. If its bigger its a Parcel."

Probably depends on how big your foot is I suppose!!!

As I've posted before Fish, we don't have parcels in Wales, only packets

You do not have to wear hi viz vests for delivery.

must just be our office then. we are told that if your outdoors on RM property or travelling in RM vehicles HI viz must be worn at all times, in fact the only time we are allowed to take them off is whilst on IPS or prepping in office.

It's a grey area the whole hi-vis thing.It's really a WCM safety initiative.
We have a vague national position that drivers should wear them because obviously if you are getting in and out of a vehicle possibly into traffic then that's a sensible thing to wear.Walking postmen didn't have to wear one but with the introduction of P&L most of us are jumping in and out of vehicles so to be honest a hi-vis is a good idea and I don't see the big deal in wearing one.

What I wouldn't accept though is members being conducted for being caught not wearing one,Royal Mail does not at the moment have a joined up national position on the wearing of hi-vis while delivering mail and until they do no-one should face the conduct code for not wearing it.

Sign on our door says, something like "High Visibility clothing MUST be worn beyond this point." Or words to that effect...

At our office , if you use a hct , you don't have to wear one

But what if your HCT has to exit via the car park/loading bay area where there are moving vehicles?

Section 5 or 6.You would have to wear it in the yard if it has been risk assessed as a high risk area,but not when you are doing delivery,but use common sense for instance if there are no pavements.
