As far as I know, they can not be used to spy on staff. Might be wrong though.

If they track you then it can work to your advantage, if your accused of being somewhere or going to slow you can now bring up your whole delivery providing the manager knows how to and secondly you have nothing to hide.

If its as good at reporting my whereabouts as it is as connecting and sending my jobs I don't think we have anything to worry about.
Most days mine gets handed back with unsent jobs and a battery that drops to 8 percent when you try and re-establish com's.

Oh and has anyone accidentally selected realign screen when trying to connect and had to chase that silly cross around the screen for ages

It can only track to the last time you used it to scan an item. Eg it will give a precise location were you scanned an item, apart from that, no it does not check your progress in real time.

Your know how crap they are because when you drop them they don't break but they do make a hole in the ground

Done that loads of times! And once the battery drops below a certain level the "battery low" message keeps popping up every few seconds even while I'm trying to get a signature

Biggest annoyance is when you are at the customers door and accidentally drop it and the battery comes out, and you have to talk weather/politics/local news with them for nigh on 5 minutes while the crappy thing reboots.

i always put mine on suspend comms, two reasons, one it saves the battery life, which is useless at the best of times, and two, they cant track you if its not sending a signal anywhere

Be careful when scanning a recorded. Make sure u scan it at the door and not beforehand. One of our lads got questioned for scanning a recorded in the van 2 streets away from delivery point.
