"Downing Street said the wide-ranging review, headed by Bruce Carr QC, would investigate allegations of the use of "leverage tactics" by the unions as well as the impact of such disputes on the critical national infrastructure."

A wide-ranging review could be spun into anything by this government.

it wouldnt be an agreement, they would simply have to make it a law, at the moment there are several occupation s which are not allowed to strike,m the government would simply need to extend that list

None of this is anything new as they tried to ban strikes during the Second World War ,but in the first few months there were over 900 (illegal) strikes. In 1942, 1000 Kent miners were fined for striking and some Union officers imprisoned but it didn't stop workers from striking as in 1944 there were over 2000 strikes which saw the Government which included Labour Ministers passing a regulation against inciting to strike. I suggest you read "comrade or brother" by Mary Davis where much of this info comes from.It's a real eye-opener especially where Labour Governments and Trade Unions are concerned in looking after Workers rights.

This would only lead to more unofficial strikes across the Britain.

No because it would not be an agreement, it would be imposed and probably enshrined in law. Thats why the Tories have to go in 2015 if the working class of this country have any hope of equality.

The Government are conducting a review, announced by the Prime Minister, because some people turned up with placards outside someone's house? Of course, the results will no doubt be published sometime in the vicinity of the next election.

Let's be right about this, it's one of the most cynical, ideologically driven announcement I've ever heard from any government ever. Absolutely no question it will be the pretext for more anti union legislation if the Tories manage to get anywhere near Downing Street again.

Remember back in the 70's in America the air traffic controller's went on strike and the government at the time put them in chains but in this country we would'nt tolerate a no strike policy because everyone should have a fundamental right to withdraw their labour if needs must.

Correct Mailman, however we are currently living in a controlled society where debt has been the forerunner of the rich holding on to the shackles, and now there is no sense of community spirit or willingness to fight a cause.
