i was wondering about these d2d have the folks who plan etc these items ever been out on a walk ...this week i have 5 .. lidls xmas booklet..p/h and another 3 that i wont mention...now the weight of 50 lidls ones weigh 6.4kilos so by the time i add the others and the mail and pkts etc the 1st 8 bags are going to be well over 20ks mostly deliver to skyers 18 floors ..(72 flats..no opt outs)bag weights dont apply as we dont have a set of scales ase these was removed when the choclates upgraded the office..i think these peeps who sit in the office and plan these should spend a few days on a walk to see how most posties struggle to do there walks etc..or maybe i should have a few days off on the sick lol

how do you know theyre 20kg bags if you dont weigh them ?
If youre carrying this heavy a bag then its your own fault, the guidelines say only carry what you feel is comfortable, so if theres no scales, just fill them as much as youre happy to carry up stairs, and if it was me id be only filling to what i think 11kg (the agreed limit on any bag except the 1st one) would be.

As for the households over xmas .. its a joke, but if it causes me to cut off then itll be a manager problem not my problem, so if they want to send stupid amounts of d2d its up to them !

i cut off most days so even if i have 6 lots its quite easy i just concentrate on the d2d they have to be done

ignorant comment, you know very little of how long people duties on this forum take. It may be the case where your office everyone is finished early but take it from me this is not the case everywhere.

Most posties bring it on themselves coming in early working their break they have the life of Riley but when a bit of hard work comes they can't hack it exactly the same in my office. Have look at other jobs out there mate you will soon come running back when you see what they pay.

to right me and my partner have 1800 calls 5hrs on any so called easy day then a busy day was 5.30 - 6 hrs where last back everyday and claim docket , we take our breaks and use trolleys , so no we don't have any flyers , by the way 7 d2ds this week , so lets have a think before making comments.

We are giving packets to the afternoon driver and still going over by 10mins
Tuesday is an early finish but that time is used for throwing in D to D because there isn't time in the morning.
Saturday is not a guaranteed early finish either. I wish I was lazy enough for a job like yours.

If you can't comfortably manage to deliver 3 floors per day of heavy booklets to each block you need to get your DOM to arrange delivery. They're paid to manage.
From experience, our DOM wouldn't use extra resources but would tell us to drop heavy booklets inside a main door.

Problem is are you going across the frame? its much easier doing the first four rows down Monday second rows down Tuesday etc, etc that way you will not be doing all the flats in one day..

Not in my office Judgee they are finishing at least 1 hour to 1 and half hours before their time. I swear this is not a wind up.
I finish about 30 mins before my time that's taking it steady. I know its wrong but there you go...

If that's the case then I want to work in your office. In mine even the smaller walks are lucky to make an hour at best and that's on the good days. The majority finish on time or have to go over/cut off. I finished 20 mins early on saturday and threw a party to celebrate!
