itinerary plan on walk.
A driving duty has just gone up in my office and I have been looking at it but its a a duty where its not the same thing every day its just a general duty filling in for a posties if they have gone sick, clearing packets that posties cant cover and 9 am specials etc and anything the boss says to fill in the other hours. I thought a duty had to know what they are doing like a itinerary plan is this the case rather than been a general dogs body?

No it doesn't. Ad-hoc duties are quite common in larger offices. Go for it! Whatever the managers give you to do they will have no idea how long it should take so from day 1 take as long as you like - breakfast at Morrisons, shopping for the week, bit of window shopping, coffee in the café - it's a winner and easy to pull the wool.
