nightshifts

I work in one of the biggest d/o in the country.
They are 2 nightshifts in place which are going to be removed.
The nightshift do all mail seg, d2d's, tracks, d2d returns, yard and office tidy,
Lay out mail for sorters and put mech on frames.
How many other d/o's have or dont have nights and if not who does all the above.
On a sunday we walk into about 150 yorks.

All our large offices have nights in due to running CSS machines. There was a couple of years between nights being axed and the CSS machines being brought in where there weren't any nights. During this time there was a mixture of SA and duties which started 1-2 hours early to put mail out, separate mailsort, do a bit of IPS etc. The smaller offices which don't have CSS machines still do this although I think most if not all of the SA has gone now. Usually its the firms duties which start earlier and do this work.

Haven't had nights for years. Plenty of people, and more every day, on light duties that start at 5 though, with the majority of walks starting at around 7.

We have around 300 deliveries and haven't had nights for a few years apart from CSS workers. Oh the joy if everything was out ready for you first thing in the morning-our office is a tip and it takes around 15-20 minutes just to get organized, not that the planners take that into account!
