Overtime Rate???

Can anyone confirm what the overtime rate is for the first 10hrs?

Mine comes out at 9.65 but i've only been with RM for 5 weeks.

Yes but overtime rate is only paid after 39 hours, if you are p/t then any excess you claim for will be paid at normal rate until you exceed 39 hours.

I've always wondered why our O/T rate is so low, not much higher than normal hourly rate. O/T rate should be about £14-15 ph to be honest, I don't know how we compare to O/T in other jobs?

After 10hrs overtime the rate is even lower.
The union negotiated this as well which I find astonishingly incompetent.

because you only 20 hrs you don't get ot rates till 39hrs have been worked so your getting your normall hourly rate

I've never understood this, we get about 70 a day after tax but if you work your day off you only get an extra 50 after tax! I don't do overtime since the revision

I imagine the union would say we don't want people doing lots of O/T so that's why we have never pushed for a higher rate, But they should know that some people need to do a bit here and there and some people even do it because they enjoy it!! If anyone has a family member in another job that does overtime it would be interesting to know how their O/T rate compares to their normal rate.

No it's not, I worked over 30mins last week and it's worth £5.30 - P/T 30hrs/week

The overtime rate used to be time and half I think, but that was when the hourly rate was very poor and our pay was "boosted" by all sorts of additions (Driving, Saturday & Early shift allowances plus some others that I remember some people got that had been there years. Over time the union has "consolidated all these extra payments into your basic pay but the overtime rate only went up by each years percentage so has fallen behind the Time and a Half that we all fondly remember

(It could have been time and a quarter, my memory isn't quite as sharp as it used to be due to fatigue brought on by overworking on my delivery )

I remember when I started (15 years ago) a full time wage whilst on leave was about £150 without all the extra allowances
