Carrying your Pouches?

How do you carry your pouches on your shoulders?

I carry mine bandolier style as I find the weight can then be transferred to my back rather than one shoulder and it has no chance of slipping.

seen others carry it on one shoulder, but surely that way you are always fighting against it slipping off?

i find that bandolier style is far too uncomfortable for me. it digs into the side of my neck.i have mine hanging off my left shoulder, if you shorten the straps there is no problem with them slipping off. since park and loop came in we just split the loops to a very manageble light weight anyway, with a bundle in your hand and one or maybe two in the bag. but its all a matter of personal preference. unless of course you are using a trolley.

silly thread,lwt are the method unless its flats or is a security issue. If you have a fall and have a bag on your shoulder where you should be using a lwt you are leaving yourself wide open for the sack

if you're on CDV/LWT/HCT duty - a significant minority are still on Pouches - I am and most of Huddersfield still is.

Technically on a P&L delivery you're meant to use a trolley but that's somewhat hard to do when you're delivering to flats all the time, up and down stairs etc. It's far easier to carry a pouch over your shoulder. It depends on the weight as to how I'd carry it. Light day, on my shoulder. Heavy day "Bandolier Style".

I usually use a trolley if it has any sort of weight to it.I get called "glass back" by some muppets at work but i just ignore it.If the bag is light i just use the bandolier style as it is less damaging apparently.

I do get quite dizzy, so perhaps I need to see the Doc. HAHA.

I prefer on the shoulder. When your pouch is rammed with packets and bundles its really hard to find the packet for me.

That did make me laugh , might have to give that a go when I've got about hundred packets in my bag dragging me down to the floor. Cheers for the advice!

I wear two pouches bandolier style, opposite sides full of small parcels. I put the bundles of mail / D2D in the light weight trolley pouches, Anything too large of heavy for the pouches goes on top of the trolley affixed with bungee cords.

All because......... we LOVE parcels

Had P&L around 3 months now... Been told we are allowed to use the smaller pouches as long as weight is under 8kg for loops instead of trolley..
