Action to take when a collegue pee's you off.!!

Ive only been with the Royal Mail for 12 weeks so Id say im still classed as a newbie. Our D.O has about 40 staff,most that have been there for years. 3 Weeks ago I was put on a walk id never done before but had picked my loop up well by the end of the week. Last week I was put on the same walk with the other permanent postie. Last week we had so many d2d's we knew we were going to be late all week. As we were bundling up I asked my partner if I could do his loops to save time as I was comfortable with that half of the walk and would save us from further delays him showing me where to go on the loop id never done. He jokingly shouted ' what else do you f***ing wanna do'. Everyone turned around and I really felt embarrassed but he was obviously showing off by shouting it.
Anyway during that week there may have been 3 occasions max when I forgot to turn the letter around for a parcel and he made a point of it in the staffroom but unknown to me. I found out when the next morning people were shouting 'don't forget to turn the letter round today',again feeling embarrassed. I wouldn't mind but he also forgot to do the same thing twice but I kept quiet.

Now its a new week and im on a new walk and the idiot I was with last week is still shaking his head and making comments. He even said this morning that no one else will work with me apart from the postie im with this week.

Im not sure what to do. Im feeling as though hes taking the piss out of me to others. He's seniority and im a newish starter so should know better. Ive told him to drop the comments but he still does it and his joking is getting me down. Don't forget the others around him have been employed for years like him and I can hardly go to management because it wouldn't look good.
Do I just ride this out until he finds other little things to occupy his mind and carry on being the butt of his remarks despite how this is affecting me?

You can ride it out if you think you can do, newbie's always take a bit of flack to start with regarding mistakes! If you feel though the comments are getting nasty and beyond a big of leg pulling then your first action would be to ask him to cut it out. If he still carries on after that then go and see your manager and ask him to deal with it. If your DOM fails to act then take it higher up and complain.

Each and every single one of us deserved to be treated with respect at work by each other, management and the public.

Newbies more than anyone need help, support and advice not some plonker making out he's the big man and never makes mistakes. It's a hard job, both physically and mentally demanding and no one needs extra pressure from a smart ass.

This guy sounds like first class knob head and needs to be made aware of his actions. Personally I would find out who your workplace coach is and vent your concerns to him or her as they should be giving you help and advice. Your workplace coach could also communicate with management on your behalf about this knob. He really should know better.

I always try to help all newbies as best as I can. We all started off as newbies and we all needed help and a little support.

So regardless if this knob is the most senior guy in the office, he has absolutely no right to treat you the way he is.

So first port of call for me would be your workplace coach. Hopefully this should sort it out. If not then speak to your DOM directly and they should take the appropriate action.

Personally I'd just ignore him as if you react it will probably make him worse. If you really can't stand it you could speak to him and ask him to stop. This again could just make him worse. Or you could go to management, ask them to speak to him as you feel like it is bullying.... this option I would consider a very last resort. Not only can they be very unsympathetic, but it may just make him worse.

He's obviously a bit of a dick, pity him for being a twat and let it go over your head. He'll soon get bored if you ignore him. Bullies feed off reaction. I very much doubt people are refusing to work with you as he says, again he's just trying to upset you.

Ask yourself do you really care what this idiot thinks? Is he important to you in any way? Care about what the people you care about think and forget about the rest!

If you've already asked him to stop and he is continuing then your next stop is management - who cares what it looks like?
Tell your manager he needs to deal with it and if he doesn't you will be making a formal complaint under the Bullying and Harassment procedure, and you will make it very clear how little help your manager was.
It needs to stop now.

Every office has a bell-end like this (or if you're unfortunate enough to work in a large DO, several), and it's likely that he's been there for a long time and thinks he's cock 'o the walk. Don't assume, however, that everyone else is on his side, even if they appear to laugh at his 'jokes', as it's possible that they've been on the receiving end of his BS and are just grateful that a new target has come along (ie, you). They might be equally grateful, though, if you take him down a peg, either through a quiet word in his ear or via management. It's obviously bothering you, so don't let it fester, act and get it sorted.

3. Tell your DOM to tell him to back off.
